Save the Fold

Privacy Policy

Effective date: October 6, 2026

The short version: Save the Fold collects nothing and sends nothing anywhere.

Save the Fold is made by Steven Christy. This policy explains what the game does with your information.

What we collect

Nothing. Save the Fold has no network capability of any kind. It does not contain code to open a network connection, and it cannot send data off your computer. There are no accounts, no sign-in, no ads, no analytics or telemetry, no advertising identifiers, no tracking of any kind, and no in-app purchases.

We do not collect, store, transmit, sell, or share your personal information, because the game never has access to it in the first place.

What the game stores on your own computer

So that your progress and settings survive between sessions, the game writes a few files to your own device. These stay on your machine. They are never uploaded, and we never see them.

On Windows these files live in the SaveTheFold folder inside your application data folder: %APPDATA%\SaveTheFold

On a Mac the game runs in Apple's App Sandbox, so its files live inside the game's own container: ~/Library/Containers/com.stevenchristy.savethefold/Data/Library/Application Support/SaveTheFold

You are in full control of all of it. Deleting that folder erases every file the game has written, and uninstalling the game removes the program.

Crash data from the app stores

If you installed Save the Fold from the Microsoft Store, Microsoft may make anonymized crash and diagnostic data about the game available to us through its developer tools. If you installed it from the Mac App Store and have chosen to share analytics with app developers in your Mac's settings, Apple may do the same.

Where that happens, we use it for one purpose only: finding and fixing bugs in the game. We do not attempt to identify any individual player or device from it, we do not combine it with any other data, and we do not give it to anyone else.

Data that a store itself collects when you browse, buy, or install apps is handled by that store under its own policy: the Microsoft Privacy Statement or Apple's Privacy Policy, not by us.

Children

Save the Fold is family-friendly and suitable for children. Because it collects no data at all, it collects no data from children either. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, of any age.

Your rights

Privacy laws such as the GDPR and the CCPA give you rights to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of personal information a company holds about you. We hold none. There is nothing for us to look up, export, or erase, because nothing about you ever reaches us. The files described above are yours, on your own computer, and you can delete them at any time.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted here with a new effective date. If a future version of the game ever adds a feature that sends data anywhere, this policy will be updated before that version is released.
